What is and Why Attend the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School?

For Palm Springs Corvette Club members seeking to enhance their driving skills, the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School offers a comprehensive program that covers safety, speed, and advanced techniques.

Located at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada (adjacent to Las Vegas), the school is the official high-performance driving program for Chevrolet Corvette owners. Founded by Canadian racing legend Ron Fellows, a champion in Trans-Am, NASCAR, and endurance racing, the program is designed to elevate your driving abilities while prioritizing safety, precision, and enjoyment.

Whether you are a new Corvette owner eager to explore the capabilities of your C8 or an enthusiast seeking advanced techniques, the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School provides valuable insights and skills.

Key Benefits:

1. Master Your Corvette's Capabilities Safely:

New Corvette owners receive a subsidized two-day "Corvette Owners School" for $1,000 (regularly priced $3,695), Total track miles vary from 130 for COS and just under 200 for level 2. For corvettes such as Stingrays, Z06s, or the new E-Ray. This allows you to explore the mid-engine marvel's engineering, including braking thresholds, cornering grip, and throttle response, without risking your own vehicle.

   - Through progressive exercises, you will learn dynamic car control, visual scanning, and passing etiquette, building confidence for everyday driving or future track days. Attendees often report a heightened appreciation for their car's potential, reducing the inclination to test limits on public roads.

2. World-Class Instruction and Facilities:

• Instructors are professional racers who provide real-time, positive feedback-observing from the passenger seat or during ride-alongs-tailored to your skill level, from beginners to experienced drivers. Sessions combine classroom theory with hands-on drills such as autocross and full-track laps on a track where the miles vary from 130 for COS and just under 200 for level 2. On courses that simulate real-world challenges. The track lengths vary from 1.5 for all owners' courses, 2.2 or 2.1 for level1 and 2.6 for level 2. The facility has just under 10 miles of track.

• The resort itself is a car enthusiast's paradise: they have luxury condominiums, 31 lakeside casitas and a clubhouse  with on-site dining (breakfast and lunch included), creating an atmosphere of a high-end getaway rather than just a class.

3. Skill-Building for All Levels and Vehicles

• Programs range from beginner-friendly Level 1 (2 days) to advanced Track Days, applicable to any car-not just Corvettes-focusing on fundamentals such as apex hunting and threshold brakingIt is not about raw speed; as Fellows states, it is "far more than simply going fast.

Expect Heart-Pounding Laps, Sweaty Exertion, and Breakthroughs

Reviews consistently describe the experience as "heaven," "unforgettable," and the "best driving experience imaginable." One attendee even remarked that it "enhanced the perceived value" of their C8 Corvette.

I would like to personally echo the sentiments expressed in the other reviews. On October 26, 2026, I completed my second school, my first being for the C8 Stingray. This class was specifically designed for my E-Ray. Driving an E-Ray differs from driving a C8 Stingray or a Z06 due to its four-wheel drive and front motors, particularly when cornering. This is just one of the key concepts we learned during the class.
